Traditional Media Portfolio
Traditional media is unique from all other artforms. The ability to craft with you own hands is the ability to express your thoughts in a way that people can feel. It is about more than the subject matter, its about what the artist sees in the subject matter. Everyone has an ideal image of what a chair should look like, but no one pictures the same chair as anyone else. An artist can show the world what they see in a chair. (Although usually the subject matter is more interesting than a chair).
Making art is a process, both fun and messy. Every stroke of paint and every microinch of clay are a display of an artist's personality. The character of an artist is what the art is all about. Sometimes it persudes, sometimes it arises emotions of happiness or anger, and sometimes it is just beautiful. For the artist it is a journey, every piece of art takes them anywhere that the mind can go. This is all intensified by the physical aspect of art - the clay running down your fingers or the spilled paint on your shirt - it all comes together to form a beautiful process.
